Snow Day, Oh Yeah!!!

What to do when you have the day off and it dumps six plus inches of snow and counting?

So much for going for a ride...

Sorry Lucy, no ride today.
:(

But wait! What's this? Hmmmmm.....

Should I?

Cue maniacal laugh, mwahahahahahahaha......

Ho, ho, ho!

Pushing the XT out to the driveway is the easy part, the question is will she start with it so cold outside?

Suited up!

...and she's warming up!

Never let fear and common sense stand in your way.

I should have gone out earlier as I couldn't get any traction where cars had compacted the snow so I rode around the neighborhood on the shoulder. I spun out and dropped it once then decided to come home and play in the front yard instead.

Too much fun!!!

Since I was suited up, I may as well play some more.

Brrrr, that cold!

Snowball fight?

Why take the car when the bike will do...

Who needs all wheel drive?

    1. The usual signs of snow last night were non existent, we doubted the weather forecast until we woke this morning to a blanket of the white stuff.

I was just playing and thanks to Brandy for the pics and video.

  2. Picture 6 and the caption has to be the best one ever. I was laughing when you were doing donuts out the front lawn.

    1. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to go for a ride in this, although it was much more difficult than I imagined.

  3. Wow, didn't see that coming (meaning the load of white stuff in your neck of the woods, what happened to the rain?) Love the new header pic!!! I showed hubby your video in order to convince him buying me a (used) TW125 I found on the internet. Unfortunately he couldn't agree less… no trial bike for me for winter riding. I will have to buy snow shoes instead (sigh!).

    1. We haven't had rain in a couple of weeks and it's been cold and dry so this may be here for a few days.

Oh Sonja, you don't ask permission to buy a bike, you buy a bike then ask for forgiveness. ;)

    1. It was a blast and I was grinning from ear to ear, although it was a workout. Thanks, the snow angel was a test for the suit... and it passed.

  5. "Never let fear and common sense stand in your way" Well put!! So, will the snow stay around, or will it all melt away in a week or so?

    1. I hope it melts by Monday but temperatures aren't forecast to be above freezing until Monday/Tuesday. I'll be leaving to work a wee bit earlier come Monday morning.

    1. Thanks Canajun, being Canadian and growing up in the southern interior of BC, I know snow.
Fortunately, this is one time that I don't have to drive anywhere so it was nice to be able to play.

  7. Fun stuff that! My nephew took his kids out for some riding too - posted pics to facebook. All we have up here is cold sunshine and dry streets. I heard even OSU closed for the day :)

    1. Everyone seems to be getting around town pretty well, the roads are still covered with compact snow and many cars have snow chains on. It's now the warming and freezing that'll wreak havoc.

  8. Now the big question. Did you ride two up on the XT to Coffee Culture?

    1. Ummm, no, no we did not. I may not let fear and common sense stand in my way, but Brandy on the other hand has saved me many a time from doing something stupid.
