Shiny bits

My stepper motor did not come in last week as I had hoped. I was planning to pick it up last Saturday and install it Sunday but of course it arrived Tuesday instead. I won't be able to make it to the shop until this weekend. This delays my repair a week and has me manipulating the throttle to compensate for the poor idle. The bike runs fine at speed but the faulty stepper motor won't regulate the air intake at idle and cause it to stubble and stall. I'll replace it this weekend and hope it fixes the problem.

In the meantime, I've been ordering farkles online and today I received new footpegs from K&L Cycle.

A much more aggressive cleat to secure my feet while standing on the pegs as I explore beyond the pavement. These drop the pegs about an inch thus lowering my weight on the bike.

I mounted them right away and adjusted the shift lever, the brake lever seems good but I may adjust it after a ride or two. They look odd, not because they don't have rubber inserts but because they are so clean.

I really need to wash my bike sometime.

Maybe this summer, when the rain stops.

  1. Right......I am off to buy some farkle...everybody else is!!!!!!!!

  2. Nice Farkle, one i should invest in.

  3. Now why would you think you need to wash the bike to match the new pegs? They are small and the bike is large. Just. Dirty the pegs up and they will fit right in. Much easier and infinitely more fun.

  4. Troubadour:

I was also thinking of some farkles. Nothing wrong with a dirty bike, shows that you are using it. Just keep the gauges clean and you are all set

I wanted to get highway pegs but haven't found the right ones yet. Most mount too high

    Wet Coast Scootin

  5. The new foot pegs look great. They fit well with the rest of the bike. After a couple of rides they probably won't look shiny anymore especially if it's wet/muddy...

  6. I hate waiting for stuff! Patience isn't one of my virtues. I like the new footpegs. Look good on the Tiger. Wash the bike when the rain stops? Isn't that what rain is for...washing the bike? Summer is just for drying it off.

  7. Shiny bits are nice, functional shiny bits are just that much more nice!
